FSC Certified

It wasn't until the late 1980's when consumers would become more aware about the downing of rainforests and improper reforestation procedures, and when they became aware, governments began paying attention. This would begin the journey of the Forest Stewardship Council, an organization specifically devoted to environmentally friendly forest management. The FSC would be founded in 1993, and since has set the standard for forestry management around the world.

To become an FSC certified manufacturer, a company has to meet their exacting standards. The FSC doesn't take their work lightly, and neither does Gala Manufacturing. And as it turns out, our philosophies regarding being the stewards of our environment couldn't be any more aligned.

There are two types of FSC Certification for a product, and all of Gala Manufacturing's Bamboo Flooring products fall into one of these two categories:

FSC Pure - This means a product is manufactured using 100% FSC certified virgin materials.

FSC Mixed - This means a product is manufactured using a mix of FSC certified material, recycled material and FSC approved controlled material (paper or wood from an approved source).

When a consumer sees the FSC label, they can rest assured they're not being sold something that says it's "green" when it's actually not. And we all know how common it is for a company to claim "eco-friendly" status and it be nothing more than a marketing ploy.

At Gala Manufacturing, we've taken every step to ensure that whatever we do, whenever we do it, it's the right thing to do for our environment. To us, it will always be the "in" thing to do.

All Gala Bamboo Flooring is either FSC PURE or FSC mixed. Other products like laminate, hardwood and cork have not yet gone through the FSC process and therefore are not yet eligble for that certification.
